Our client, a professional services firm located in downtown Halifax, is seeking an Accountant/Office Manager – a challenging role that will blend the accounting, human resources, administrative and IT functions of the firm.
This is a great role for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage multiple projects at once. Specifically, you will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities (billing, accounts payables, account receivables and cash management), monthly and year-end financial reporting, bank and account reconciliations, payroll and financial analysis.
As the “go to” person in the office, you will be responsible for support staff – including recruitment, professional development, performance management, work planning and compensation – ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to perform their jobs satisfactorily. You will also oversee all office management activities such as facilities, office equipment, purchasing, records management, social media, website and security.
As the ideal candidate, you have a business degree and formal training in accounting. You have several years’ office management experience preferably in a professional services environment. In addition to possessing the technical skills required to do the job successfully, you can work with minimal supervision and prefer a high level of personal responsibility and accountability. In addition to being highly organized by nature, you have a client service orientation and a knack for seeking operational efficiencies.
