Kiwanis Nursing Home, located in Sussex, New Brunswick, is seeking an Administrator to replace the incumbent who is retiring in late 2017. Currently a seventy bed facility, the home is undergoing an expansion that will increase the number of beds to 100 upon completion.
In this role, you will ensure that the mission, vision and values of Kiwanis Nursing Home are carried out with professionalism and understanding. You will ensure that all residents receive the standard of care and services they expect and that their families receive regular communication about their well-being. This involves seeking ways to improve the overall quality of care, being receptive to new ideas and approaches, and making certain that all programs are delivered with kindness, warmth, and dignity.
Likewise, you will demonstrate the same degree of leadership and care toward staff who work in stressful situations daily. This means supporting them with coaching and training, and by providing regular performance feedback.
What qualities are needed as Administrator?
As the ideal candidate, you are a collaborative leader with an impressive track record building consensus among many stakeholders such as governments, employees, unions, residents, and the community at large.
Ideally, you are familiar with the challenges facing the health care industry although this is not essential. More importantly, you bring well-rounded business expertise in finance, administration, human resources, operations, health and safety, and government relations.
You possess well-developed personal qualities including integrity, initiative, communication and leadership skills. Further, you have a strong appreciation for governance issues and understand the importance of an effective Board/staff relationship.
