Dartmouth Adult Services Centre (DASC) is a dynamic social enterprise providing employment, vocational and day programs for adults with intellectual disabilities. These individuals provide a range of quality products and services to businesses throughout the Halifax Region. On their behalf, we are seeking a human resources generalist to provide strategic and operational HR services to their team.
As the ideal candidate, you possess appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications. You have knowledge of all aspects of human resources including employee relations, training and development, recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits, occupational health and safety, payroll, employment equity, policy development, succession planning, labour relations and performance management.
As an individual, you are confident and professional, and exercise sound judgment in your decision-making. You are consultative by nature and understand the importance of client service within an organization. You are well organized, manage time effectively, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Sensitivity to those with intellectual disabilities and an inclusive approach is a must for this role.
Because this is a not-for-profit funded primarily by government, budgets are tight. Salary for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. There is a full benefits plan and a defined contribution pension plan whereby DASC will match your contributions up to 5% of your salary.
This is a big mission – and that’s why we are looking for an exceptional individual. If you have interest in this opportunity, please forward a thoughtful letter explaining why you are qualified and, in particular, how you could contribute to the important work of DASC. Please also attach a resume. Submissions can be emailed to email@example.com, quoting project number 1730 in the subject line. A job description is available upon request.
