downeast destination management (ddm), a leading Atlantic Canadian destination management company, is seeking a seasoned professional to assume responsibility for the growth, strategic direction and overall management of the company.
Reporting to the President of Fraser and Hoyt Incentives, you will lead a strong team in offering meeting and conference services of the highest calibre throughout Atlantic Canada to clients from across Canada and the United States. To do this, you will build strong working relationships with clients and business partners, manage an aggressive sales and marketing campaign, ensure the needs of clients are fully met, and maintain a supportive community-based culture within the team.
What qualities are needed for this role?
The Managing Director of downeast destination management must be a multi-talented person who brings a blend of leadership talents, business development skills and personal qualities to the table. Someone who can think long-term yet, at the same time, deal with the “hands-on”, day-to-day operations of running a demanding business.
To be considered, you should have proven experience in sales and marketing – ideally in the event management or hospitality industries – and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of clients. Beyond sales expertise, your wide-ranging skills in business planning, operations, client service, account management, supervision, quality control and budgeting equip you well for the challenges of running this organization.
