Town of Yarmouth, located in Southwestern Nova Scotia, is the financial, business, education, and lifestyle centre for 70,000 people who live in the tri-counties of Yarmouth, Digby and Shelburne. They are now seeking an individual to lead their planning division.
In this role, you will work on a range of projects such as land use planning, development control, permits, appeals, and building inspection services. You will also act as a resource to the public, staff, Council and the Planning Advisory Committee on planning and development matters.
As the ideal candidate, you have experience in a municipal environment which could include working for a municipality or with a consulting engineering firm that does municipal work. A successful track record working with a range of stakeholders including elected officials, staff, consultants and the community is required. As well, you must be eligible for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners.
The Town is willing to consider candidates with a range of experience, including those at the manager or director levels.
