As one of Canada’s most experienced executive search consultants, he has interviewed over 10,000 job candidates and completed thousands of executive search assignments at the management and professional levels. He has consulted with a wide-range of organizations including major corporations, owner-managed businesses, governments and non-governmental organizations, and professional associations.
Gerry is an accomplished speaker and facilitator and he shares his deep experience by conducting keynote speeches and workshops for professional groups, industry associations, not-for-profit groups, universities, and companies. His talks are engaging, practical, and rooted in real-life experiences.
He has written widely on careers, managing people and leadership for professional publications and blogs regularly on these topics. He is host of the cable TV series Take This Job and Love It and author of PINNACLE: How to Land the Right Job and Find Fulfillment in Your Career.
Prior to founding his firm, Gerald Walsh Associates, Gerry worked in several industry sectors including manufacturing, technology and financial services. He is a professional accountant (CPA, CMA) by training and holds an MBA degree.
Gerry believes strongly in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. His firm and its employees are actively engaged with many community groups including Blue Nose Marathon, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Brunswick Street Mission, Hope Cottage, Terry Fox Foundation, Women of Excellence Awards, Feed Nova Scotia, Centre for Spirituality and the Workplace, Dartmouth Adult Services Centre, and Greater Halifax Partnership. While Gerry has many volunteer and community interests, his passion is long-distance running. To date, he has completed over twenty-five full and half marathons, and in his lifetime has run more than 30,000 miles.
