FEED NOVA SCOTIA's mission is to feed Nova Scotians in need and reduce that need. They do this by collecting and distributing food to more than 146 member agency food banks, shelters, and meal programs throughout Nova Scotia.
They also provide support, research, and awareness as they strive to alleviate chronic hunger and poverty for thousands of Nova Scotians.
On their behalf, we are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide leadership and strategic support to their senior team and operational human resource services to staff and volunteers.
What qualities are needed in this role?
As the ideal candidate, you are a skilled human resources generalist with appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications. You have widespread experience in all aspects of human resources including compensation and benefits, recruitment, health and safety, policy development, performance management, employee relations, and succession planning.
As an individual, you are a confident professional who is approachable. You understand the importance of internal client service and confidentiality with an implied sense of empathy, while remaining objective. You are well organized, manage time effectively, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
And most importantly, you have a strong social conscience and are committed to doing what it takes to help those who are in need.
